How Safety 1st CDL Training Academy LLC collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Safety 1st CDL Training Academy LLC (“Safety 1st,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a CDL training school at 407 North Cedar Ridge Drive, Duncanville, Texas, and this website, sftruckingacademy.com. This policy explains what information we collect through the website and in connection with admissions, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you call, fax, visit our office, message us on social media, or apply for a program, you may give us information such as your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, date of birth, driver’s license details, employment and driving history, and information needed for financial aid or enrollment.
Applications through CDL PowerSuite
Our online application form is hosted by CDL PowerSuite, a third-party student management service. Information you enter there is collected by CDL PowerSuite on our behalf and is also subject to CDL PowerSuite’s own privacy policy.
Website chat assistant
Our website has a chat assistant that answers questions about our programs. It is a virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence, not a live person. We save chat conversations, and anything you type into them, so our admissions team can review them and follow up. If you share your name, phone number, or email address in the chat or its contact form, we send it to our admissions team so a representative can contact you. Chat messages are processed by Anthropic, the AI provider that runs the assistant, under its commercial terms. Please do not enter sensitive information such as your Social Security number or driver’s license number in the chat.
Info packet requests
If you give us your email address in the chat, its contact form, or the “Get our free info packet” form, we email you our info packet (a PDF about our programs) and send your name and email to our admissions team so a representative can follow up. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Student payments
Students can pay us through Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle. Those payments are handled by those services (Zelle through your bank) under their own terms and privacy policies; we never see your card or bank account numbers. After paying, you can tell us about the payment on our payments page. We save the name, phone number, email address, amount, payment app, date, and transaction ID you enter there, and send them to our office staff, so we can match the payment to your student account.
Online class sign-ups
If you ask to be notified about an online class on our Online Classes page, we save the name, email address, and phone number (if you give one) that you enter, along with the class you picked, and send them to our office staff. We use them only to tell you when that class opens for enrollment. You can ask us to remove you from the list at any time.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web server records basic technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time. We use these logs only to keep the site running, secure, and free of abuse.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics on this website. The only cookie we set is a login cookie for our staff when they sign in to manage the site. The chat assistant stores your current conversation in your browser’s session storage so it stays open as you move between pages; it is cleared when you close the browser tab.
Web fonts
This website uses fonts provided by Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests these fonts from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address. Google’s use of that information is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions and contact you about our programs
- To review your application and determine eligibility
- To enroll you, schedule training, and keep student records
- To help you apply for financial aid, including through the Texas Workforce Commission
- To provide job placement assistance, with your permission

How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our school and serve you:
- Service providers that help us operate, such as our website host, CDL PowerSuite, Anthropic (for the chat assistant), and the text-message, push-notification, and email services we use to alert our admissions team. Payments you send by Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle go through those services. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Government agencies and testing authorities when required for licensing, testing, financial aid, or training records. For example, CDL schools must report training completion to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Training Provider Registry.
- Prospective employers, only with your permission, as part of job placement assistance.
- Legal requirements, when we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of our students, staff, or others.
Photos and the SFTA Life gallery
We share photos and videos of training, events, and graduations on our website and social media. If you appear in a photo and would like it removed, contact us and we will take it down.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep your information
We keep student and applicant records for as long as needed for the purposes described above and as required by state and federal recordkeeping rules. Website server logs are kept only for a limited time.
